1.1.7.20. Screenwashes

Screenwash can function, only if the switch of ignition is in the provision of "ON" (ignition is included).

ATTENTION
As brushes of a screen wiper can freeze to a windshield, protection of an electric motor of the drive of a screen wiper against breakage, an overheat and ignition by means of the automatic machine of protection of a chain is provided. The device automatically disconnects a screen wiper (approximately for 5 min.). If it occurred, translate a control lever "is switched off" by a screen wiper in situation and stop on a roadside or on the edge of a carriageway to remove snow and ice from a windshield and to release screen wiper brushes. Later 5 you minperevedit a control lever a screen wiper into position. If the screen wiper did not resume work, observing precautionary measures, immediately curtail on a roadside or to the region of the carriageway and stop. Wait for improvement of weather conditions before continuing the movement with idle screenwash.

Option A (with position of the INT switch).
Include a cleaner, having transferred the lever to one of the lower provisions:
– inclusion of a cleaner on one running cycle (not fixed situation);
INT – a faltering operating mode;
1 – the constant mode at a small speed;
2 – the constant mode at a high speed.
Press the lever up that brushes of a screen wiper made one running cycle.

Option B (with position of the AUTO switch).
Include a cleaner, having transferred the lever to one of the lower provisions:
– inclusion of a cleaner on one running cycle (not fixed situation);
AUTO – automatic control of a cleaner;
1 – the constant mode at a small speed;
2 – the constant mode at a high speed.
Press the lever up that brushes of a screen wiper made one running cycle.

Automatic control of a cleaner.
If to establish a control lever by a cleaner in the provision of "AUTO", then the cleaner will automatically join and be switched off on rain sensor signals. Frequency of waves of brushes depends on an amount of precipitation on a windshield (the cleaner can work both in the faltering mode, and in constant at small or high speed).

Governing bodies of devices of external lighting and alarm system, cleaners and washers of glasses and headlights, electric heater of back glass. Sensitivity of the sensor of a rain can be changed rotation of the ring regulator on a control lever a cleaner (fig. 1.72). From average situation (corresponds to normal sensitivity of the sensor) turn the regulator to a tag (+) for increase in sensitivity and to a tag (–) for reduction of sensitivity of the sensor.
The mode of automatic control of a screen wiper can not work if temperature of the sensor of a rain makes about -10 °C and below, or about +85 °C and above. If the windshield is covered by water-repellent structure, the sensor of a rain can incorrectly estimate an amount of precipitation on glass. It can lead to violation of normal work of a screen wiper in the automatic mode.
If dirt or other alien substances (for example, ice or particles of road salt) stuck to a windshield over the rain sensor, or the windshield is covered with hoarfrost, the screen wiper can automatically join. However, if brushes of a cleaner cannot remove from glass ice, dirt or other alien substances, automatic control mode will be switched off by a screen wiper. In similar cases it is necessary to include a continuous operating mode of a screen wiper, having moved a control lever to the first or the second fixed situation, or to remove ice, dirt and other alien substances manually before returning a screen wiper in the automatic mode.
